U.S. Space Force Selects Auria to Advance Next-Generation SATCOM Test and Training Capabilities

The deployable MSFITS platform will enable realistic SATCOM testing, technology evaluation, and operator training across contested electromagnetic environments

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., September 10, 2026Auria today announced it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC) Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) Directorate to design, develop, and deliver the Multirole Satellite Frequency In-Field Test Suite (MSFITS) in support of the National Space Test and Training Complex–Electromagnetic (NSTTC-E). The capability will enhance the Space Force’s ability to evaluate satellite communications (SATCOM) systems and prepare operators for missions in increasingly dynamic and contested electromagnetic environments.

Under the contract, Auria will deliver a ruggedized, field-deployable platform that enables operators to monitor, emulate, and analyze complex SATCOM and radio frequency (RF) environments while creating and executing realistic operational scenarios. Designed to integrate with existing SATCOM infrastructure, including modems, antenna systems, and RF equipment, MSFITS will modernize and extend existing capabilities by bringing RF monitoring, scenario control, hardware-in-the-loop evaluation, and post-event analysis into a single field-deployable platform. 

Together, these capabilities will allow operators and test teams to recreate complex SATCOM conditions, repeat scenarios under controlled conditions, and compare system, technology, and operator performance using consistent data. As a result, the Space Force will be able to conduct more rigorous testing, demonstrations, experimentation, and mission rehearsal while reducing dependence on scarce live assets and fixed laboratory environments.

MSFITS will enable operators to create, modify, execute, and assess operationally representative SATCOM scenarios while supporting repeatable performance evaluation under both nominal and contested conditions. Through an intuitive operator interface, users can monitor the RF environment, configure mission scenarios, and conduct both real-time and post-event analysis to understand system performance and mission outcomes. Built using a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), the platform is designed to scale alongside evolving mission requirements, enabling future integration of additional waveforms, enhanced RF analytics, and expanded interoperability across the Space Force’s operational test and training infrastructure.

The effort supports the U.S. Space Force’s broader initiative to strengthen operational readiness by providing realistic, configurable SATCOM environments for testing, evaluation, and operator training. By combining flexible system integration with advanced mission scenario execution and real-time analysis, MSFITS will enable warfighters to train across a range of different satellite architectures and electromagnetic environments, helping build the skills needed to operate effectively in increasingly contested conditions.
