Boecore (Auria) Acquires Ascension Engineering Group

October 11, 2022

Boecore (now Auria), a provider of technology solutions to customers within the space, missile defense, hypersonics, and strategic deterrent mission areas, announced today that it has acquired Ascension Engineering Group (AEG), a leading provider of space system and satellite communications (SATCOM) engineering solutions primarily for the defense and military community. Boecore is backed by Enlightenment Capital.

Founded in 2017, AEG combines deep mission expertise with highly technical software and systems engineering capabilities to solve complex challenges in the space and SATCOM domains. AEG enables Space Force, NASA, Army, and commercial customers to spur innovation and accelerate mission success in the space environment. With this acquisition, Boecore deepens its technical capabilities in software and systems engineering, DevSecOps, modeling and simulation, and system integration and testing, while expanding its expertise in SATCOM.

“Boecore’s acquisition of AEG comes at a time when there is a critical need for secure and robust satellite communications in space given an increasingly contested and congested environment,” said Thomas Young, Vice President at Enlightenment Capital. “We will continue to invest in the platform to drive innovation, expand service and solution offerings that are integral to Boecore’s customers’ missions, and develop and maintain our nation’s most complex, integrated systems that protect national security.”

“The partnership with the AEG team helps Boecore expand our products and technical capabilities, and it broadens our relationships and mission expertise within the space community,” said Tom Dickson, President of Boecore. “We are thrilled to welcome the AEG employees to the Boecore family and to continue driving innovation to support our customers’ most critical missions.”

“We are excited to partner with the Boecore team and continue to build mission critical capabilities that drive a lasting impact to our customers,” said Andrew Dark, President and Co-Founder of AEG. “Our cultures are dedicated to innovation in support of our customers’ missions, and this partnership will only make our combined solutions more impactful to the space and defense communities, while offering greater opportunities and support to our employees.”
